A New Chapter: For Every Woman in Her Becoming Season

Have you ever had a moment where everything changed—quietly, beautifully, and all at once? Life shifted for me in the most unexpected way, and now I get to share it with you.

It all began about a year ago. My husband came home from a bachelor’s trip and, to my surprise, said he was ready for baby number two. I’ll be honest—I was shocked (and thrilled!). I’ve always wanted two kids. Growing up with a sibling taught me that even when the world feels uncertain, you always have someone in your corner. My husband, on the other hand, was an only child and didn’t fully relate to that experience. He’d always say, “She has cousins!” (which we all know is not the same as having a built-in best friend that you get to torment under the same roof).

When he said he was ready, I reminded him: this is a forever decision—no take-backs, babe! And just like that… we began the journey of growing our family.

✨ A Year Later: Baby Lincoln Is on the Way

Now here I am, pregnant with our second child—our baby boy, Lincoln. Saying that still feels surreal. I’m beyond grateful to experience the magic of pregnancy again. And the fact that I’ll soon have one of each—a son and daughter—truly humbles me.

My daughter, who was crossing her fingers for a sister, is already stepping into big-sister mode with so much love. Just the other day, she told me how happy she was that I’m pregnant—because she and one other student in her class were the only ones without siblings. I smiled and hugged her tight. I remember what it was like having a younger brother (we’re four years apart, and my mom made me take him everywhere). The sibling bond? It’s a rollercoaster of joy, lessons, and love—and now she’ll know it too.

If you missed our pregnancy announcement, you can watch it here. I surprised my family during a game of Uno and caught their reactions on camera. My daughter cried happy tears, and my husband looked like he couldn’t believe it. Moments like that? Pure gold.

🍼 Starting Over With Baby Must-Haves

With Lincoln arriving in November, we’re entering planning mode. Baby showers, nursery vibes, and figuring out what’s actually useful this time around—because let’s be honest, some of these baby items out now are doing the most.

To my fellow mamas—new and seasoned—if you have baby product must-haves that helped you, I would love to hear them. I’m all ears (and eyes!) for your recommendations. It’s been a while since I did this, and things have changed!

💫 What I’m Learning This Time Around

The first trimester? Whew. It had me knocked out like I worked the night shift. I lost a little weight and had my fair share of nausea, but rest was the real game-changer. I’ve always been someone who avoids naps—I’d tell myself, “You’re wasting time!” But pregnancy taught me that slowing down isn’t a setback. It’s a soft reminder that your body is working overtime to do something miraculous.

So now? I nap. I unplug. I listen to my body. And I encourage you to do the same, whether you’re pregnant or just going through a new life season that demands your energy in different ways.

💌 For Every Woman Reading This

This blog post isn’t just for the expecting mama.

It’s for:

  • The woman dreaming about motherhood someday

  • The woman in the thick of it with toddlers and routines

  • The one who’s unsure if she even wants kids

  • And the one quietly waiting, hoping, and trusting her time will come

Wherever you are—I see you. I feel you. And I’m walking this journey beside you.

We all need a little more softness, a little more beauty sleep, and a lot more grace as we evolve.

🌿 Gentle Reminders

This new chapter is humbling. It’s new but familiar, and it reminds me how different each season of womanhood can feel—even when you’ve walked a version of it before.

So whether you’re starting over, starting fresh, or simply starting your day… here are four affirmations I hope will meet you where you are:

“I welcome this new chapter with grace and gratitude.”
“I trust the timing of my life and the path unfolding for me.”
“Peace flows through me, even in the unknown.”
“I am becoming more of who I’m meant to be, one soft step at a time.”

Thank you for being here, for reading, for sharing space with me. Your presence means more than you know. I hope you’ll leave a comment below to let me know you stopped by—hearing from you is truly the heartbeat of this blog.

Until next time,
With love always,
