The Sweetest Spots In New Orleans

Beignets, Birthdays & Sweet Adventures in New Orleans 🍩🎉

Beignets and sweet treats—New Orleans has some of the best food I’ve ever tasted! I recently visited NOLA again and before you ask—yes, I was just there in October celebrating my mom’s birthday. This time, it was for my cousin’s 21st, and even though both trips were all about birthdays, the vibes were totally different in their own beautiful way.

Let’s talk beignets first, because I made it my mission to try three of the most hyped-up spots in the city. And yes, I finally found my favorite. Now, of course, this is my opinion—but I know a good treat when I taste one, and I’m not gatekeeping. 👀

We also stumbled upon the cutest little vegan-friendly ice cream shop nestled in a charming neighborhood, and girl... the flavors were SO GOOD we went back twice! You already know my daughter—the Ice Cream Queen—was living her best life. I try to avoid dairy, but let’s be real... it’s hard to stay strict on vacation, especially in a food city like NOLA.

This trip was all about celebrating my cousin, so I didn’t plan any activities for myself. But that’s the beauty of New Orleans—there’s always a new place to eat, a street to explore, and historic charm around every corner. We took some gorgeous photos at City Park and soaked in the moment.

Now let’s get into these BEIGNETS, shall we? 👇🏽

My Top 3 Beignet Spots in New Orleans

1️⃣ Loretta’s Authentic Pralines — 10/10 This spot won the beignet battle for me. The dough was light, fresh, and flavorful. They were served hot and hit the spot in every way. Oh—and don’t leave without trying the sweet potato cookie. Chef’s kiss. Visit the one on Rampart St!

2️⃣ Cafe Beignet — 8.5/10 Super cute spot, very Instagrammable, and the beignets were solid. Not as doughy as Cafe Du Monde, but still missing that slight sweetness I got from Loretta’s. If you’re a funnel cake girlie, you’ll enjoy these.

3️⃣ Cafe Du Monde — 8/10 An iconic NOLA experience! It’s definitely one of those “must-do” moments, but if the beignets aren’t fresh, they get a little too heavy. When they’re hot though? Fire. Still a fave for the memories. Especially because my girl Kim K also made a stop here on one of her episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

A Few More Highlights 🍦📸

  • Revisited Morrows for dinner (yes, again!) and loved it just as much. I got the gumbo bowl for dinner with a side of cornbread. I also ate bites of my husband and daughters chicken skin, which was cooked to perfection and so yummy! Pro tip: Make a reservation if you’re going at night—it gets packed.

  • Took pictures and walked through in City Park—always a beautiful, serene spot.

  • Found a vegan ice cream shop that was so good, I didn’t even miss regular dairy. It was called Sum N Sweet and I highly suggest you stop and tell them I sent you:)

Although I skipped the cocktails this time, we still had the best time just eating our way through the city and vibing with family.

I love sharing little glimpses of my adventures with you, hoping it inspires you to explore—or just gives you a virtual escape. If you’ve been to NOLA or plan to go, drop a comment and let me know if you’ve tried any of these sweet treats! And if you have a favorite beignet spot I missed, you better put me on.

Until next time, I’ll catch you in the next blog post, beauty! 💕

PS: Don’t forget—commenting helps boost the blog so Google knows you’re vibing with me. I appreciate you always! ✨
