The Sweetest Spots In New Orleans
Beignets, Birthdays & Sweet Adventures in New Orleans đŠđ
Beignets and sweet treatsâNew Orleans has some of the best food Iâve ever tasted! I recently visited NOLA again and before you askâyes, I was just there in October celebrating my momâs birthday. This time, it was for my cousinâs 21st, and even though both trips were all about birthdays, the vibes were totally different in their own beautiful way.
Letâs talk beignets first, because I made it my mission to try three of the most hyped-up spots in the city. And yes, I finally found my favorite. Now, of course, this is my opinionâbut I know a good treat when I taste one, and Iâm not gatekeeping. đ
We also stumbled upon the cutest little vegan-friendly ice cream shop nestled in a charming neighborhood, and girl... the flavors were SO GOOD we went back twice! You already know my daughterâthe Ice Cream Queenâwas living her best life. I try to avoid dairy, but letâs be real... itâs hard to stay strict on vacation, especially in a food city like NOLA.
This trip was all about celebrating my cousin, so I didnât plan any activities for myself. But thatâs the beauty of New Orleansâthereâs always a new place to eat, a street to explore, and historic charm around every corner. We took some gorgeous photos at City Park and soaked in the moment.
Now letâs get into these BEIGNETS, shall we? đđ˝
My Top 3 Beignet Spots in New Orleans
1ď¸âŁ Lorettaâs Authentic Pralines â 10/10 This spot won the beignet battle for me. The dough was light, fresh, and flavorful. They were served hot and hit the spot in every way. Ohâand donât leave without trying the sweet potato cookie. Chefâs kiss. Visit the one on Rampart St!
2ď¸âŁ Cafe Beignet â 8.5/10 Super cute spot, very Instagrammable, and the beignets were solid. Not as doughy as Cafe Du Monde, but still missing that slight sweetness I got from Lorettaâs. If youâre a funnel cake girlie, youâll enjoy these.
3ď¸âŁ Cafe Du Monde â 8/10 An iconic NOLA experience! Itâs definitely one of those âmust-doâ moments, but if the beignets arenât fresh, they get a little too heavy. When theyâre hot though? Fire. Still a fave for the memories. Especially because my girl Kim K also made a stop here on one of her episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
A Few More Highlights đŚđ¸
Revisited Morrows for dinner (yes, again!) and loved it just as much. I got the gumbo bowl for dinner with a side of cornbread. I also ate bites of my husband and daughters chicken skin, which was cooked to perfection and so yummy! Pro tip: Make a reservation if youâre going at nightâit gets packed.
Took pictures and walked through in City Parkâalways a beautiful, serene spot.
Found a vegan ice cream shop that was so good, I didnât even miss regular dairy. It was called Sum N Sweet and I highly suggest you stop and tell them I sent you:)
Although I skipped the cocktails this time, we still had the best time just eating our way through the city and vibing with family.
I love sharing little glimpses of my adventures with you, hoping it inspires you to exploreâor just gives you a virtual escape. If youâve been to NOLA or plan to go, drop a comment and let me know if youâve tried any of these sweet treats! And if you have a favorite beignet spot I missed, you better put me on.
Until next time, Iâll catch you in the next blog post, beauty! đ
PS: Donât forgetâcommenting helps boost the blog so Google knows youâre vibing with me. I appreciate you always! â¨
