Beauty Unveiled: Why Every Nail Tech Should Attend A Trade Show
There’s something unforgettable about your first trade show the buzz, the booths, the beauty overload. If you’re a beginner nail tech thinking, “Should I go?” — the answer is a big, bold YES.
Trade shows are more than just a chance to snag the latest products (although that part is definitely fun). They’re a goldmine for learning, networking, and getting inspired by the energy of the nail community. You’ll discover trending techniques, meet your favorite techs IRL, and walk away with fresh perspective on the business and artistry of nails.
What To Expect at Your First Show
Picture this: you walk into a convention center that feels like it could fit three football fields. It’s bright, buzzing, and full of energy and yep, a little overwhelming at first. That was me walking into Premiere Orlando, one of the biggest beauty shows in the country.
There were booths from brands I’ve been obsessing over, creators I’ve followed for years, and tables upon tables stacked with nail goodies I couldn’t wait to try. I even ran into some of my fave techs like Hellen & Sarah from Bio Seaweed Gel and snagged a flick with them 💕.
But here's the thing no one really tells you it’s easy to get caught up in the showroom floor and forget about the free education happening in classroom settings and right at the booths. These classes are where the magic happens! From learning new application techniques to getting tips on client retention, the hands-on advice is priceless. If I could do it again, I’d definitely carve out more time to sit in those sessions.
Why It’s Worth It
Product Discovery: You’ll get to see and try new tools and formulas before adding them to your salon setup.
Education: Free training is offered throughout the day from foundational techniques to advanced designs.
Community: Meeting other nail artists who get it is both validating and motivating.
Inspiration: Whether it’s an airbrush demo, an innovative bit, or a new nail art trend, you’ll leave ready to level up.
Looking Ahead
While Premiere Orlando was massive and magical, I’m excited to attend a smaller, more nail-focused show next. I think it’ll offer a more personal feel and be a bit easier to navigate.
I’ve only gone to Premiere Orlando but now I’m ready to experience a smaller trade show that is tailored specifically for nail techs 💕
