Gel DIY Home Nail Care
Nail care at home can be so much work, but it doesn’t have to be. I get it not everyone has time to run to the salon every 2-3 weeks but that doesn’t mean that we don’t want our nails done. I get it! I’ve been doing my nails at home for so long now and I thought I would share some simple tips to help make it easier for you….since I am a nail tech and all. 😂
First things first heyyyy, I hope your ready for your DIY nail routine to get so much easier. I find that keeping everything in one spot saves me the hassle of running around every inch of my house trying to figure out where I put my acetone last or where my husband placed my nail clippers. I keep a small tub with a lid on it to help keep everything together. If you don’t have that, no worries just grab a shoe box and be sure to keep your nail items together.
I keep my nails simple no designs, I don’t have that much time on my hands. You’ll need a few supplies handy and everything I use is linked in my Amazon store front. ( If you decide to shop from my link I do earn a small commission, so thank you in advance<3)
List:
Cuticle Pusher (wooden pusher)
Bio Seaweed Gel Unpolished kit
Gel Color of choice
Base & Top coat
Acetone
Rubbing Alcohol 90%
Gel Lamp
Lets get started, I’m sure you’ll be starting with a fresh slate if not be sure to follow my tutorial over on instagram, that I did on my daughter to help you remove your gel polish. After its removed what you’ll want to do is be sure your nails have no oils or dust on them so use a lint free wipe with a dab of alcohol and rub your nails with it. Use your cuticle pusher to gently push back your cuticles and after grab your buffer to gently remove the shine from your nails, you’ll do this to all ten. Grab another lint free wipe with a dab of alcohol to remove any debris from the nails and now your ready for some polish. If your not using Bio Sea Weed Gels Unity gel polish you’ll need to apply your clear base coat. (If you didn’t know Bio Seaweed Gel has a collection that makes doing your nails at home so easy! Its called unity and its so nice to have handy because it has your base and topcoat already in 1 bottle so no need for a few extra supplies.) Your probably thinking, dang she talks about BSG a lot lol, I don’t get paid for promoting them I just genuinely love their products.
Once your base coat is applied and cured, grab your color of choice and you’ll want to apply 2 layers of color. Cure in between each coat. Once that’s finished all thats left is your topcoat! Super simple and so easy and with those steps you’ll have a long lasting gel manicure. If you plan on working on your toes next be sure to follow along some great tips I left over on Bio Seaweed Gels blog post Beyond the Paint.
Tell me what your go to nail color is!? I would love to know.
Talk to you soon!
With Lots of love,
Brionna
