Key West Florida: Our Last Vacation as a Family of 3

Late August, Husbayy surprised us with a babymoon — a relaxing trip before baby Lincoln makes his debut, and it was everything we needed to end the summer with a bang. I still can’t believe I’ll be holding him in just a few short weeks!

Key West was pure magic calm, sunny, colorful, and full of good food. If you’re planning a getaway (family, girls trip, or just you and your boo), this is your sign to put Key West on your list. It’s one of those places where time slows down just enough for you to truly enjoy it.

The next vacation we take, we’ll officially be a family of four, which is still wild to think about. My daughter has been the sweetest little helper this entire pregnancy, always making sure I have everything I need. I just know she’s going to be the best big sister, and I can’t wait to watch them grow up together.

So let’s get into this trip, because if you know me, I’ve already got all the good food spots and chill recs ready for you!

🍳 Foodie Finds: Breakfast, Always

Let’s be real, a vacation isn’t complete without a few rave-worthy food stops. And if you don’t know, breakfast is my love language.

We checked out A Breakfast Club, Too, and listen… the French toast? 10/10. I paired it with crispy bacon and a cold cranberry juice. Simple, but so satisfying. I ate it so fast I didn’t even get a picture, sometimes the food deserves your attention more than your camera. My phone doesn’t always eat before I do, IYKYK.

Our hotel room had a full kitchen, so we grabbed groceries at Publix near by and cooked in one night. Pro tip: if you ever plan to cook on vacation, keep it simple, you won’t have your full spice cabinet, so plan easy meals.

First Breakfast of the trip made by Husbayy<3

We went with pre-seasoned salmon, asparagus, and baked potatoes, and it turned out delicious! It was cozy, quick, and felt like a little piece of home. We threw the salmon on the grill and we even found the dairy free butter we use at home. The next night we went classic with pizza for my daughter…because, honestly, that’s always a win for kids.

🏝️ Where We Stayed

My husband always takes care of our travel arrangements (yes, I’m blessed 😌). This time, he booked us at the Hyatt Vacation Club at The Beach House and let me just say, I’d go back in a heartbeat.

The property has only 74 residential-style suites, so it feels private and homey. The airport was literally 7 minutes away, and the location was perfect for exploring.

Now… the roosters. 🐓 They’re out every morning like clockwork, doing their job better than any alarm. Honestly, I didn’t mind it added to the charm. It felt like waking up in a tropical paradise.

We rented a jeep, and if you go skip the golf cart. I promise. They don’t have AC, and that Florida heat will humble you quick. The drop-top jeep gave us all the island vibes and the cold air we needed after walking Duval Street in the blazing sun.

🐠 Things To Do

If you’re bringing kids (or just want a cool indoor activity), check out the Key West Aquarium. It’s air-conditioned and surprisingly fun — perfect for a break from the heat.

An evening on the Glass Bottom Boat Cruise is a must! They took us out to see all the beautiful fish and we even got a chance to see the most beautiful sunset!

You can skip the Cat Museum though, not worth it. The cats were too hot to move, and one even tried to snap at my daughter. I was like, uh-uh, we don’t do that. 😂

☕️ A Nail Tech’s Dream: Coffee + Pastries

Calling all my coffee-loving girlies, do yourself a favor and stop by La Grignote.
The pastries are heavenly (don’t say I didn’t warn you). I grabbed an iced latte with almond milk, added a touch of sugar for my sweet tooth, and it was perfection.

Normally, I’m a hot coffee girlie, but Key West heat said otherwise. That iced latte hit every spot it needed to. If I could’ve packed one for the ride home, I would’ve. We actually stopped right before we went to the airport.

You can find some of my travel must-haves, comfy sets, and pregnancy faves from this trip over on my Amazon storefront. I linked everything from my go-to travel sunscreen to the perfect travel airport fit that’s giving cozy and cute.
